Commercial Storefront Glass Replacement in Sunnyvale, CA
Aluminum storefront framing, commercial glazing, and entry glass for small business property along El Camino Real and Mathilda.
Storefront Is a Different System Entirely
Aluminum storefront framing, tempered and insulated commercial glazing, and entry glass for small business properties.
Storefront is not scaled-up residential. It is a thermally broken aluminum grid of verticals and horizontals with glazing set into it, held by gaskets or wet seals, and the safety glazing requirements run through nearly the whole assembly.
That means the parts matter. Get the system profile wrong and the gasket does not seat, so the job stalls with an opening boarded up. We identify the system before quoting.
What Brings Us Out to a Storefront
A broken or cracked lite
One panel of the grid has failed. We can secure the opening the same day and glaze once the unit arrives.
Fogged units in the grid
Failed insulated units in a commercial frame, same seal failure as residential but larger and heavier.
Bent, corroded, or racked framing
Aluminum that has been hit, corroded at the sill, or pushed out of square will not hold glazing properly.
An entry door that has failed
Closer, pivot, or the door lite itself. Entry doors take far more cycles than anything residential.
A tenant improvement
Changing the storefront layout for a new tenant, including new openings or a relocated entry.
Safety glazing to bring up to code
Older glazing that no longer meets current safety requirements for its location.
How We Do It
- Step one
Identify the system
Which storefront profile is in place and what glazing type it holds, so we order parts that actually fit.
- Step two
Confirm safety glazing
Tempering and safety requirements checked per lite, because commercial locations trigger them far more often.
- Step three
Schedule around trading hours
Early, late, or weekend work where the opening has to stay secured or the shop has to stay open.
- Step four
Glaze, seal, verify the entry
Glazing set, gaskets and wet seals replaced, and the entry door checked to operate and lock correctly.
El Camino and Mathilda Run Discontinued Profiles
Sunnyvale's older retail strips along El Camino Real and Mathilda Avenue run 1960s and 1970s aluminum storefront systems where replacement gaskets are no longer stocked. We identify the profile before quoting so the job does not stall waiting on a part that is not made any more, and we tell you up front when a section has to be re-framed rather than re-gasketed.
Same-day board-up
We can secure a broken opening immediately and glaze when the unit lands.
Scheduled around trading
Early, late, and weekend work so you are not closed during business hours.
Licensed and insured
Liability and workers' comp in force, with certificates available for your property manager.
Storefront Glass Questions
Yes, and that is usually how a broken storefront goes. We board and secure it so you can trade, then fit the glass once the unit is fabricated. Large commercial lites are made to order.
In most storefront locations, yes. Glazing in and beside doors, at low heights, and in large spans generally requires safety glazing. We confirm it per lite rather than assuming.
Yes. Early mornings, evenings, and weekends are normal for us on commercial work, because closing a shop mid-day costs more than the glass.
Usually close, and sometimes exactly. Clear and dark bronze anodised are still widely available. Older custom finishes may need the whole run replaced to look consistent, and we will tell you which case you are in.
